چکیده

Soil erosion is an important environmental problem that can have various negative consequences, such as land degradation, which affects sustainable development and agricultural production, especially in developing countries like Tunisia. Moreover, soil a major around the world because of its effects on fertility by nutriment loss siltation water bodies. Apart from this, most serious type several regions both locally globally. This study evaluated regional risk through derivation appropriate factors, using Revised Universal Loss Equation (RUSLE), was applied to establish map whole Tunisian territory identify vulnerable areas country. The RUSLE model considers all factors playing role processes, namely erodibility soils, topography, use, rainfall erosivity, anti-erosion farming practices. equation is, thus, implemented under Geographic Information System (GIS) “Arc GIS Desktop”. results indicated Tunisia has erosion, showing 6.43% total area country affected very high rate, estimated at more than 30 t/ha/year, 4.20% mean annual losses, ranging 20 t/ha/year. eroded were identified southwestern, central, western parts spatial be used decision support document guide decision-makers towards better management provide opportunity develop strategies for prevention control global scale

Modeling Soil Erosion Using Rusle and Gis Tools

Soil erosion involves detachment and transport of soil particles from top soil layers, degrading soil quality and reducing the productivity of affected lands. Soil eroded from the upland catchment causes depletion of fertile agricultural land and the resulting sediment deposited at the river networks creates river morphological change and reservoir sedimentation problems. However, land managers...

Predicting Soil Erosion With RUSLE in Mediterranean

Accurate assessment of soil loss is essential for sustainable agricultural production, 11 management and conservation planning, especially in productive rain-fed agro-ecosystems 12 and protected areas. The European Union considers soil as a non-renewable resource and 13 identifies that soil degradation has strong impacts on soil and water resources. In this work the 14 Revised Universal Soil Lo...

Modeling the impacts of no-till practice on soil erosion and sediment yield with RUSLE, SEDD, and ArcView GIS

The revised universal soil loss equation (RUSLE), the sediment delivery distributed (SEDD) model, and ArcView GIS were used to estimate the impacts of no-till practice on soil erosion and sediment yield in Pataha Creek Watershed, a typical dryland agricultural watershed in southeastern Washington. The results showed that the average cell soil loss decreased from 11.09 to 3.10 t/ha yr for the wh...

Estimating water erosion and sediment yield with GIs, RUSLE, and SEDD

A comprehensive methodology that integrates erosion models, Geographic Information System (GIs) techniques, and a sediment delivery concept for estimating water erosion and sediment delivery at the watershed scale was presented. The method was applied to a typical agricultural watershed in the state of Idaho, which is subject to increasing soil erosion and flooding problems. The Revised Univers...

Estimation of Soil Erosion Using RUSLE Model and Determination of Direct and Indirect Damages in Kan Watershed

Prioritization of different regions at watersheds based on the erosion rate and sediment yield with approach of its economic effects can lead to the production of valuable information for projects of soil conservatism. The present study aim was sub-watersheds prioritization of Kan watershed based on erosion condition with the approach of economic losses from erosion and sediment. Therefore, the...
